Calling the Shin’rei

-2000 T-K

There is a tome, zealously guarded by the Kioku, called the Kotoba. This, they say, was granted to them by the God of the Stars, and it tells of the mythological period of the world, as the first trees were growing and the rivers still forming. This tale of creation describes the coming of today’s world as beginning with the coming of the Shin’rei, seven warriors that embodied different parts of creation.

These seven are common mythological figures across Ikaiguchi, generally named Akane, the Sun Queen; Arashi, Lady of Storm; Chinami the Mariner; Junrei the Warrior; Saion, Lord of War; Shizen, the Horned God; Tengoku Amare, the Children of Stars; and Hebinomichi, the Outcast.

Unique to the Kotoba, though, is the Jade Crucible. It claims that this order sacrificed themselves in droves in order to call forth the Shin’rei, and guide them to the Tree of Iron, where they forged their weapons, readying themselves for their Endless War against their hated foe.
